Despite Nerfs, Hou Yi Remains the Top Marksman

Even after multiple rounds of nerfs, Hou Yi continues to dominate the marksman lane in Honor of Kings. According to Cricket BD players, while champions like Meng Ya have seen noticeable drops in win rate, there still aren’t many shooters who can outshine him in terms of overall performance. The new patch makes him more comparable to Baili Shouyue—both now require safer early-game play and patient scaling before unleashing full power during their mid-to-late game spikes.

Aoshi, another notable shooter this season, also saw a dip in win rate, but that’s largely due to higher pick rates and lower ban rates. Even so, he still performs solidly. Aoshi doesn’t have many direct counters; most assassins can’t do much once his ultimate is activated. As long as enemies aren’t too tanky for his triple fire dragon soul build to cut through, he’s a safe and forgiving pick. Cricket BD users find Aoshi relatively easy to pick up, making him a strong option for consistent growth in ranked matches.

Meanwhile, some players have voiced frustration over Gongsun Li’s perceived weakness this season. But with nearly all marksmen receiving nerfs, a technically challenging champion like her naturally gains value by comparison. Still, due to her high mechanical ceiling, Gongsun Li is best left to skilled players—if your mechanics aren’t top-tier, other shooters may suit you better.

Then there’s Goya, a classic case of low pick rate but high win rate. She’s the kind of “quiet carry” only specialists are playing. Compared to niche heroes like Luna or Athena, Goya is actually easier to learn and excels under the radar. As attention shifts toward newer shooters, Goya has been overlooked—making her a smart pick for climbing the ranks without much contest.

Baili Shouyue, though nerfed several times already, is expected to receive at least one more adjustment. His biggest drawback is his weak early game; if he’s denied farm or pressured in lane, it’s hard for him to bounce back. One more nerf could push him out of the T0 tier entirely. However, in coordinated team play, Baili still thrives—especially with support. His long range, consistent damage, and triple dash give him exceptional late-game potential when protected.

Since last season, the meta has tilted in favor of stationary marksmen—or “stand-and-shoot” types. Hou Yi has emerged as the poster child for this category, with Di Renjie leading the spellblade style. Entering the current season, these marksmen still shape the meta. While roaming shooters remain flashy and fun, they haven’t dethroned the dependable DPS that traditional ADCs provide. For rank climbing, Hou Yi and Di Renjie remain safe, reliable choices.

In particular, Cricket BD users note that Hou Yi still leads the charge. With strong game sense, you can play around him as your team’s centerpiece. If the team rallies behind Hou Yi, he easily becomes the core win condition—commanding respect even in a meta that constantly shifts.
